Double Deck Exhibits & Engineered Vehicle Platforms — SEMA Show 2026

Two-story exhibit environments, vehicle-display platforms, and hanging-sign systems planned around structural documentation, confirmed venue conditions, and current approvals.

A vehicle changes the layout

When the vehicle holds the floor, the business conversation needs another level.

A vehicle, product, and an active aisle can occupy most of an island footprint. A carefully planned second level protects room for private distributor meetings, executive conversations, and hospitality without giving up the display below.

Why go two-story

Keep the vehicle and product on the ground floor while moving meetings above the noise.

This show can ask a single island to function as a vehicle display, product environment, conversation zone, and brand landmark at the same time. A second level changes how that footprint works.

  • Keep the vehicle as the ground-floor focal point.
  • Create a separated setting for buyers, distributors, and leadership teams.
  • Use height for wayfinding across a large convention-center campus.
  • Organize hospitality without sacrificing the product story below.

Vehicle display planning

Sequence the vehicle, platform, exhibit, and graphics as one operating plan.

Vehicle displays introduce a layer of operational planning that a standard exhibit does not have. The current exhibitor service manual and show instructions control the actual vehicle requirements and move-in sequence.

  • Vehicle spotting. Confirm when and where the vehicle is placed before build sequencing is committed.
  • Current preparation rules. Fuel, battery, cap, drip-protection, and access conditions are confirmed against current organizer materials rather than assumed.
  • Platform loads. Vehicle weight, support points, and turntable configuration must align with the confirmed engineered display.
  • Ramps and approach angle. The access path is defined around the specific vehicle’s ride height, overhang, and display conditions.

Plan the next step

Have vehicle dimensions, weight, or structural drawings ready?

Start the conversation early so engineering review, vehicle platform loads, and approval workflows align with your build schedule.

The structural runway

A two-story vehicle exhibit is engineered work, not catalog work.

Feasibility starts with the assigned location and the exact vehicle or display plan. Structural documents, current approval requirements, and the labor sequence are resolved before the project scope is finalized.

  • Stamped structural documentation with the appropriate load, egress, railing, and access detail.
  • Advance review through the current show and venue process.
  • Ceiling-height and site-condition verification for the assigned location.
  • Sequenced labor planning around vehicle placement, platform work, exhibit build, and graphics.

Defined responsibilities

The exhibit scope is engineered around the contractor handoffs.

We do not provide material handling, electrical, or physical rigging. Those services are ordered from the current authorized show-service providers. We design the exhibit, structural elements, and required project information around the confirmed handoffs.

Rigging: the venue or show-authorized contractor performs and bills the physical hanging work. We can design and fabricate a hanging-sign structure, coordinate its engineered information, and prepare the project materials needed for the current approval process.

Weight and staging: engineered platforms, decking, stairs, and vehicle-display structures affect the freight and material-handling plan. The current contractor materials control service ordering, requirements, and billed scope.

Verify current show conditions

Use the organizer’s current documents before the structural scope is locked.

Official SEMA resources control current exhibitor requirements, vehicle-display opportunities, service ordering, venue conditions, schedules, and contractor information.

Structural planning FAQs

SEMA Show double-deck and vehicle-platform questions.

Share the assigned booth, vehicle specifications, footprint, use case, current drawings, and approval runway. Official event and venue materials remain the authority for current requirements.

Can I build a double-deck booth at the SEMA Show?

Where current show rules and the assigned location's clear height permit, yes. Two-story structures require stamped structural engineering drawings and advance review by the applicable venue and show authorities. Your assigned location determines feasibility.

How much lead time does a two-story SEMA exhibit need?

More time than a standard exhibit, because engineering, drawing production, and the current approval cycle must be completed before build sequencing can be confirmed. Begin structural planning early for a November program.

Does a raised vehicle platform need engineering?

It frequently does. Vehicle weight, platform geometry, support points, ramp approach angle, and any turntable or moving element must be evaluated against the confirmed vehicle and display configuration.

Who performs hanging-sign rigging?

The venue or show-authorized contractor performs and bills physical rigging. We can design and fabricate the sign, coordinate engineered rigging-point information, and prepare the project materials needed for the current approval process.

Do you provide material handling or electrical?

No. Material handling and electrical are ordered from the current authorized show-service providers. We coordinate exhibit scope around the confirmed handoffs without representing those contractor services as our own.

What should be confirmed before vehicle move-in?

Confirm the current organizer and venue instructions for vehicle spotting sequence, fuel and battery treatment, drip protection, access routes, vehicle dimensions, floor conditions, and any required approvals. Requirements can change from one edition of the show to the next.

Talk through the structure
